Michael DeCandia – Mr. DeCandia has been involved in the real estate industry as an architect, owner and developer for over 35 years with a focus on “green” projects. He is an Advisory Board member, providing oversight for design and construction services, Mr. DeCandia is the founder of the ECO Architecture and Design Group, LLC and President of ECO Design and Construction, LLC and ECO Home Construction, LLC. In addition, Mr. DeCandia has simultaneously invested in, and /or developed numerous projects, including the 165 unit condominium conversion of the Level Club, a former New York City hotel built in 1923 and listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. Mr. DeCandia won awards for the renovation of the Old Bird House for the New York Zoological Society at the Bronx Zoo: Certificate of Design Excellence from The Art Commission, of the City of New York; and Professional Services Award in Recognition of Design and Management Excellence, from NYC’s Department of General Services. Steven Atlass – Mr. Atlass’ career in real estate spans more than 30 years and includes commercial banking, mortgage finance, loan and property workouts, and property acquisitions, redevelopments and operations. Throughout that career, Mr. Atlass has founded and led many successful entrepreneurial businesses. He is an Advisory Board member and a Managing Director of our investment company affiliate, Integrated Holdings, LLC. Mr. Atlass focuses on providing solutions for holders of non-performing loans and property owners facing mortgage defaults. Those solutions include workouts and restructurings that enable borrowers to retain property interests, and lenders to recast debt without material balance sheet impact. Mr. Atlass was the founder of Cambridge Companies, located in Radnor, PA in 1999. Cambridge purchases financially troubled businesses (often relating to senior housing or pediatric care), rehabilitates, and continues to operate them. Building on this model, Mr. Atlass applied similar techniques to pediatric special needs facilities and achieved the same positive results. In 2005, Mr. Atlass founded Hyperion Bank, a retail bank, and serves as the Chairman of the Board. Mr. Atlass strategically located the bank in an area of Philadelphia undergoing significant re‐gentrification, which has continued to flourish even with the overall economic downturn. Recently, Mr. Atlass formed Pennsylvania Bancshares to develop a practice around the purchase and rehabilitation of distressed assets that bear potential in terms of business opportunity and real estate value. He leverages his commercial and retail banking experience in negotiating with financial institutions to acquire these assets. Mr. Atlass performs discovery and due diligence with his team of independent advisors comprised of attorneys, financial advisors, general contractors and technologists. Mr. Atlass serves as the Chairman of the Abramson Cancer Center at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Board for First Bank of Philadelphia and was First Mortgage Corporation’s President. Mr. Atlass has a B.S. from Elmira College.
Richard Zimmerman – Mr. Zimmerman has a long-standing involvement in real estate finance, acquisitions and syndications. He is a Managing Director of Syndication Services for our investment company affiliate, Integrated Holdings, LLC, and a Vice President of West Coast Projects for our auction affiliate, Fox-Integrated Asset Services, LLC. Mr. Zimmerman is the founder of 1031 Exchange Provider, an independent wholesaling operation that has assisted sponsors of 1031 exchange/tenant-in-common (TIC) offerings and other public and private real estate offerings. In a career spanning more than 30 years, Mr. Zimmerman has assisted in placing in excess of $1 billion of interests in a wide variety of TIC, Delaware Statutory Trust, non-traded REIT and real estate offerings. He has been involved in the real estate securities industry since 1976 and is a sought-after speaker at numerous investment seminars for investment professionals, CPAs, attorneys and investors throughout the country. Prior to founding 1031 Exchange Provider, Mr. Zimmerman was Vice President-Private Banking for Boston Safe Deposit and Trust company where he originated multi-million dollar credit facilities for ultra-high net-worth clients as well as, asset management, trust and custodian services. Additionally, as Founder of EQUIMAX Mortgage and Loan he originated and underwrote super-jumbo mortgages for his affluent clients. Steve Gossett, Jr. – Mr. Gossett’s career in the energy services industry began when he joined CSI Energy Solutions in 1995. In 1997, Mr. Gossett pioneered the Managed Utility Services Contracting (MUSC) method for developing energy savings projects in the commercial real estate market, developing over $25 million in MUSC projects. He is an Advisory Board member with oversight over “green” project design, implementation and finance, and a Managing Director of Sustainable Syndications of our investment company affiliate, Integrated Holdings, LLC. Mr. Gossett is active in the Real Estate community, and is a graduate of the Associate Leadership Council for the Real Estate Council (TREC) in Dallas. He was appointed to the board of directors for TREC in 2004, and has served in an advisory capacity for the organization through multiple committees. Mr. Gossett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A & M University, an EIT certification from the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) as well as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM) and Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP) certifications from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Steve Thomas – The Emmy Award winning Mr. Thomas has broad experience in the construction and renovation of residential properties. He is an Advisory Board member, providing expertise in green and efficient renovation. In 2008 Thomas signed on with Discovery’s Planet Green to host and produce one of their lead series Renovation Nation featuring green building and renovation projects nationwide. From 1989 to 2003 he hosted PBS’s This Old House, one of television’s most popular home improvement series. Steve became known as the “ultimate home enthusiast” and also contributed to the successful launch of the companion program Ask This Old House. A much in demand speaker as well as a serial renovator, Steve also consults on residential building and renovation for clients all over the United States.
